Orange Park Area
On the west side of the St. Johns, and slightly to the south, lies Orange Park. It's a wide reaching web of neighborhoods, with an array of lifestyles. The northern-most area of Orange Park is home to one of Jacksonville crowning attributes, the Jacksonville Naval Air Station, or "NAS Jax," with its 20,000-plus active-duty and civilian personnel employed on the massive naval base, situated on the west bank of the St. Johns River. The installation is a major strategic hub for naval activity in the Southeast U.S. To the South is Blanding Boulevard, the major thoroughfare on the Westside and home to the Orange Park Mall, with numerous restaurants along Wells Road. This area is a bustling place teaming with lots of activities. Make sure you indulge yourself at the Hilltop Restaurant, a former stately mansion and a favorite of the locals.
Orange Park is a place for neighborhoods old and new, rural and suburban. The Argyle Forest area has new and recent construction homes in its central neighborhood hub, Oakleaf Plantation. Oakleaf's Town Center has shops, restaurants, boutiques and services galore, so residents can take care of everything they need while not having to venture far from home. Oakleaf is a master planned community with two club houses that feature unique water parks pools and other amenities. Many of the more elegant custom-built homes surround the popular Orange Park public golf course.
